I snapped this photo last week as I was waiting for my luggage at Nadzab, my final stop after days of traveling. Coming through here I am always reminded of my first time arriving in Lae, not having any idea what to expect of this country and being amazed that
a) my luggage had managed to make all the connections from NYC with me
b) it was being passed through meat straps.
The guys with the little truck on the runway pull the luggage behind them up to the window where it’s passed through to everyone waiting for their luggage on the other side…it’s effective.
