Whore frost

So I had to find out the origin of the term because it definitely sounds like something that doesn’t mean a beautiful, other-worldly, pure, silent white world…_DSC1265 It occurs when the dew freezes and attaches itself to objects that are colder than the air.
_DSC1247 The term was first used in the 14th century coming from Old English.  Hoar references something that is old – humanizing trees and other objects with white hair. _DSC1242
